The sickest bad beat of all time (for literally everyone)
Main Post:
Was at Fortune Poker Room in Renton, WA and I think I just witnessed the sickest beat of all time for literally everyone involved. Pocket Kings for quads (unfortunately not in frame) beaten by a diamond royal. Here's the kicker, hand happened at 2:50pm, 100k Bad Beat Jackpot and Monte Carlo board promotions start at 3PM. Prior to 3pm is the high hand promo, top 2 hands every 30 minutes get 400 and 200 respectively so Quad kings misses out on 60k from the BBJ. The extra kicker is that this was the second royal of the half hour, meaning the winner here got the smaller high hand, and missed out on winning 30% share of a 100k bad beat AND the 1000 bonus from the Monte Carlo board. Meanwhile the whole room missed out on the 10% room share. I don't think I could live 100 lifetimes and see this happen again.
Top Comment: Shoulda tanked ten minutes.

Top Comment: We've all been there at the poker table. You hit your straight on the flop, and then the turn and the river cards give your opponent the winning hand. But is that truly a bad beat? Is set over set a bad beat? When your Aces get cracked by 2 pair, is that a bad beat? When you make a huge bet...

Garrett v. Robbi - “I thought J high could beat him”
Main Post:
Shortly after the hand played, Robbi said “I thought Jack high would beat him.” Almost an hour after the hand, she claims she misread her hand and thought she had J3 which is why she called. Even though she reviewed her hand more and threw in a time chip. She tried justifying her hero call on turn with having flush and straight draw. Both impossible.
Any player, or even gambler here, would know that if that ever happened to them, first response would be of shock and surprise, “can’t believe this happened.” She played it confidently that her J high was good. Then claimed she misread.
It makes no sense, she’s changed her story so many times.

I just wanted to share my worst beat
Main Post:
I’ll be playing poker tomorrow and I am reminded of my worst beat. I am by no means a professional or anything. I play maybe 4 times a year. It was when I first started going to casinos. I was on a 2/4. I put $300 down and I was up to about 650 at this point. I get dealt 24o. I said I’m going to play this like aces. Bet comes to me I raise to about 80. We go 4 or 5 handed. Flop comes A35 rainbow. I flop the nuts. Bet comes to me I raise to around 120 or so. This guy goes all in. It folds to me. I call of course. He has squat. Not an Ace, nothing. Runner runner clubs, he gets a flush. 1800 pot and my money gone. At that point I was convinced that casinos were rigged, even the poker tables. Obviously I don’t think that now but that hand shaped me.
